NDSA Student Award Symposium: Shortlist

The NDSA defined a set of parameters for their judging criteria ahead of visiting the Universities respective architecture studios. The NDSA Working Group drew up the following set of points as the lens through which they would be reviewing the projects. These are:

1. An architectural need
A societal or economic need for the proposed typology

2. Buildability
Integrity behind the construction methodology

3. Applicability within NDSA regions
Tailoring site analysis towards regional macro and micro issues

4. Deliverability
Is the procurement of such a proposal feasible

The winning students were chosen from the list below were to be afforded the opportunity to present their works to a room of industry wide professionals. A specially selected panel was invited, each member of which brought their respective expertise, relevant to the winning students' proposals.  Two university architecture department degree shows were frequented by the NDSA Working Group, who put in a combined 75hrs into reviewing the student projects. Congratulations to all those students who made the shortlist, by no means an easy feat.
