The Annual General Meeting is an opportunity for you to have your say in how the Nottingham & Derby Society of Architects is run. You can vote for existing members to continue in their roles, vote in new committee members and even stand for a position yourself providing you meet the RIBA’s Branch Handbook criteria.

Key dates are as follows:

  • February 22nd close date for nominating positions on the committee

  • February 23rd AGM Online via Zoom

  • 1 week handover period to incoming committee

  • 1st March inaugural 2022-2023 committee meeting

Meeting agenda to be issued via website and to registrants. General running order on the evening will be as follows:

  • Welcome (Chair)

  • Review of financial Accounts (Treasurer)

  • Review of past term outputs (Secretary & Chair)

  • Announcement of positions being challenged (Secretary & Chair)

  • Presentations from candidates

  • Position appointments: (Secretary / Chair)

    • Ballot by show of hands

    • Announcement of outcome

  • Welcoming in new of committee (Outgoing & Incoming Chair)

  • Close

Members of any level (Levels Include: Chartered RIBA Members, Associate RIBA Members, & Student RIBA Members) can put themselves forward to be a committee member, the exception to this is typically the roles of the Chair and Hon. Treasurer, who are required to be Chartered RIBA Members. The current committee voted to approve an amendment to this stipulation, to create flexibility in the event of limited uptake or interest shown from Chartered Membership.

We ask that you take this role seriously, be able to commit a suitable amount of time over your tenure and expect you to conduct yourself as a professional as you would in practice. During this time, you will be representing the RIBA and the local RIBA members.
